Cleveland – According to the Ohio Department of Employment and Family Services, two Ohio companies announced massive layoffs in July.
Compass Group laid off 72 employees because it lost its contract with Cleveland State University, the company said in a letter to the department. The dismissal will begin around September 7.
TTEC Home is closed nationwide. The company’s shutdown means six people in Ohio will lose their jobs in July.
“All affected employees will receive 60 days pay and allowance, 60 days notice or a combination of both, instead of notice, to ensure compliance with the warning law. All employees will receive all wages earned and benefits applicable at the time of termination. ”

Last week, fewer than 10,000 new jobless claims were filed in Ohio. This is the first indication that claims have not reached or exceeded 10,000 plateaus since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
